Commercial Case Study 1

C&G were approached by the nominated M&E contractor to propose a package for the electrical CAT.B fitout at an entire floor of an office building on Cannon Street, this site was on the 5th floor and access was restricted. A lift was available was in constant use. C&G elected to start works early in the mornings to maximise the use of the lift and we were supported by our wholesaler who agreed to make deliveries as a first drop.

As the project progressed, there were a number of elements that changes and a number of additions to the original scope as the design was continuously upgraded and altered.

C&G were able to allocate additional labour to react to the additions and upgrades. We were requested to install circa 400# CAT.6A cables to precise locations along with comms room containment and power.

In a rapidly developing environment and extremely tight programme, the management of this project was paramount as at one time, there were 30# operators on site, all completing their own tasks and remits.

C&G had to ensure that all elements of the installation were completed as per the as-installed drawings.

As noise was an issue on this project, C&G opted to split their hours to maximise ‘drilling hours’ offering total flexibility to the project management to ensure completion of the project on time.

The project was completed on time despite some delivery issues with the free-issue lighting which was ordered by others and out of our control.

To ensure the handover date was met, C&G worked the weekend before handover to ensure any electrical requirements could be dealt with allowing a fluid handover at 9am on the Monday morning.
